XVIII Gijon Conference on Sports Economics. Call for Papers

The annual conference of the Sports Economics Observatory Foundation (FOED, University of Oviedo) will be held in Gijon (Spain) at the Laboral, Theater. Sala 4. Faculty of Commerce, Tourism and Social Sciences Jovellanos, 2024, May 10-11 (Friday and Saturday).
This year the topic of the Conference is Sports Economics Bodies. New Competitions (In Season NBA, for instance). New Sports. Fight-Fight for the calendar: FIFA, UEFA, Clubs, IOC. Role of new investors: Arabs in soccer and golf (Ronaldo and Rahm, for example). Injuries due to tight schedules, Euroleague Judgmente and so on. Probably the male and female soccer players will be like the Greek héroes (a soccer match every two days, twelve months a year) and for the Bodies the calendar should be increased, at least, to 500 days a year.
Individuals are invited to submit unpublished communications related to the topic of the Conference.
All of the submissions will be assessed by a scientific committee.
There is a fee of 100 euros for participants. The students of the University of Oviedo have free admission. If any of the speakers cannot attend, they can participate through Teams or Zoom, in which case he will not need to pay any fee or the registration fee will be returned.
Accommodation and meals during the conference are the responsibility of the organization.
